Snickerdoodle Cookies
Cookies!
My first cookie post!
Believe me, there will be plenty more in the future.
While I am not a huge fan of traditional chocolate chip cookies, there are many other cookie variations and creations to choose from. Sugar in excess becomes harder to consume in large amounts as we get older and yet almost everyone craves a sweet treat now and then. As a child, I loved eating chocolates and chugging hot chocolate, once it cooled down. Now, I prefer a big slice of pumpkin pie with whipped cream or a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie, though they can be just as sweet at times. Ultimately, the shifting preferences in our tastes highlight the importance of exploring new flavors while still indulging in the sweetness of life.
Fun things about cookies to know:
Though cookies are typically cooked until crisp or with a slightly soft interior, there are many kinds of cookies that are not cooked.
Unlike cakes, which usually need water to help thin the batter, cookies abandon water in the act of mixing and need oils to help get a fluffy and thick consistency.
Cookie terms/phrases used since the 1920’s:
“smart cookie”
“tough cookie”
“that’s the way the cookie crumbles”
A “cookie duster” is an expression that refers to a majestic mustache.

I’m not one to complain necessarily when it comes to manufactured versus homemade desserts and ingredients. I have my preferences and moments, like most, which usually depend on the plating urgency. Being in a hurry will obviously constitute slapping something together that is easily accessible. When talking specifics though, like whipped cream for example, we come across three likely options: your nearest store brand whipped cream, the Cool Whip brand, or a homemade recipe. Homemade whipped cream could be great when used for a special event or gathering. On another other hand, no one will blame you if there’s a last minute craving for some brownie bites, so you have to get the store-bought kind. I wholeheartedly support doing whatever feels the least mentally draining in the moment. Though, I can never get enough of how delectable and delicious homemade whipped cream can be. In conclusion, there isn’t always a need for special ingredients, but they can be extremely rewarding, if made right. Fuel that passion is inside of you that wants to eat something good and try making it yourself or finding a variation you can make. You’d be surprised what you can find on the internet these days if you alter your search.
